great stuff man. how do you feel on the subject?Â
I am a solidly convinced Continuationist in that I do not believe the spiritual gifts “ceased” at the closing of the 1st century or with the death of the apostles.
I’m also not a Pentecostal in the classic sense. I subscribe to what is known as “third wave” theology which embraces the manifestations of the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit in a way that is without the hype associated with certain wings of Continuationists.
So, summary: I believe there is one “baptism in the Spirit” that happens when people become Christians and there are multiple “fillings” that happen later. I believe speaking in tongues and healing and prophecy are “for today” but that each gift is given as the Spirit sovereignly wills and isn’t given to everyone.
How’s that for a quick summary? 🙂 ha ha
How about you?
This would rate in the top 5 things I have seen this week. We need balance.
